Sarah Guilfoyle (Director Stakeholder Relations and Communications - Oceanex Energy) brings 20+ years’ experience delivering across the full suite of workstreams in her field. These include stakeholder engagement, strategic, operational and creative communications, media, government and public relations, change management and policy. Sarah’s experience spans a broad range of industries with complex internal and external stakeholder environments including government, infrastructure, construction, mining, ports, rail and agriculture. 

Sarah is committed to delivering positive, mutually beneficial and aligned outcomes for the stakeholders of Oceanex Energy and the offshore wind industry in Australia.


Michael Moore (Manager - Approvals, Yancoal Australia Ltd) is responsible for delivering Yancoal’s major environmental approvals. He has 30+ years’ experience in the resources sector, working nationally and internationally in exploration and on resource development approvals. Michael is currently a key resource on the Stratford Pumped Hydro Project in the Gloucester Valley. Michael has previously worked within several NSW government agencies contributing to policy development in water management, resource planning, and resource assessments. He has also worked as an environmental consultant. Michael is also the current chair of the NSW Minerals Council Environment and Community Committee and has a keen interest in mine closure and beneficial reuse of previously mined areas.


Sam Mella (Senior Project Manager, Beyond Zero Emissions) a well-known commentator on the subject of cleantech, innovation and zero emissions in the Hunter Valley. She led the highly successful Hunter Energy Evolution video series and authored the Hunter Case Study in the BZE’s capstone research report, the Million Jobs Plan.


Darren Clarke (Director Regional Coordination, Planning and Communities, EnergyCo) bringing 20+ years’ experience in environmental planning and stakeholder relations on energy infrastructure project delivery in NSW. Darren is responsible for building key stakeholder partnerships and working across all levels of government to support efficient delivery of Renewable Energy Zones in the Hunter Central Coast and New England regions.


Michelle Kiejda (GHD Newcastle - Principal and a Technical Service Line Leader – Asset Transition) with  20+ years’ experience in environmental consulting, and technical experience in preparing rehabilitation, mine operations plans, rehabilitation management plans and project closure plans at both conceptual and detailed closure planning phases. Michelle is working on a range of closure planning and rehabilitation projects for mining, power stations and other industries in the Hunter and other regions.
